The “Tropical Islands” are located in Krausnick, about 35 kilometers south of Berlin-Schönefeld. The facility’s giant dome houses a little slice of the Caribbean. It includes, for instance:
- a huge indoor rain forest, where turtles, dragonfish, flamingos, peacocks, and pheasants play
- A tropical village, with true-to-life structures from foreign countries, reconstructed using traditional methods. It also sells many types of cuisine from tropical islands
- The South sea with a 200 meter long beach and palm trees
- The lagoon, where visitors can view a cave, a waterfall, a river canal, two subterranean water slides, and whirlpools.
- A large play area for the kids, with a shallow splash pool at the South Sea with children’s slides, a giant bucket, water table, and fountains. There is also a climbing area with softball, giant Legos, mini cars, and bumper boats.
- Sauna and spa
- Fitness club
- Wellness and beauty
- The following overnight lodging options are available: Rooms, lodges, tents, vacation homes, mobile homes, and campground
Spending the night there is a great way to enjoy a short ocean getaway.
